“Girls with Horns” is an original project that brings to the stage a story about female creativity, courage, passion, surrender, and pain. Through the biographies of three great women — Frida Kahlo, Dora Maar, and Mileva Einstein — this performance explores themes of living in the shadow of famous men and the internal conflicts between reason and emotion. Is it worth giving in to feelings and allowing tenderness to guide our actions, even when disappointment looms?

I have had the honors of writing original music, including sung numbers as well as instrumentals. Musical influences were taken literally from the characters themselves – including mariachi music, Mexican huapango, Argentinian tango, French chansone, Spanish seguidillas, balkan folklore, a well as blanket jazz/cabaret feel for collective numbers.
